Police Units
By nature of its duties, Police Department has a large fleet of vehicles. Major repairs and replacements are undertaken at Police Central Workshop at Chumukedima headed by an Addl. S.P designated as O/C.
FSL at Dimapur is headed by Joint Director level Officer. The laboratory is well equipped in dealing with cases pertaining to Finger Prints, Photography, Narcotics, Questioned Documents and to carry out Polygraph Tests.Â
The intelligence unit under the Inspector General of Police (INT) contributes towards many facets in the overall output of the Nagaland Police. Under the IGP (INT), two Superintendent of Police aided/assisted by their Deputy Superintendent of Police and other Inspectors/Officers-in-charge of outpost in all eleven (11) districts combine together with all other personnel form the eyes and ears of the Government. To this end all intelligence outputs and feedback to PHQ viz-a-viz the Government is collected, assimilated, filtered, digested, analysed and disseminated and the end product is presented to the right executive in the Government. All activities in relation to all underground outfits based, operating or taking shelter in Nagaland, anti-social elements and activities of persons, groups, organisations which are detrimental to law and order, public safety, peaceful co-existence and national security are monitored, scrutinized and when needed neutralized through HumINT and TechINT methods maintained and operated by Special Branch all over the State.

As per the record, Police Central Store (PCS) was established during the year 1973 under the command of one Dy.SP/Officer-In-Charge, and functions directly under the supervision of Police Headquarter Kohima. During the year 2008, a post of Addl. SP was upgraded/created by the State Government and since then the office has been functioning smoothly with the same post till date.
NATURE OF WORK
All the supplied items are received at PCS from the Government approved firms/suppliers, to be seated for the line committee board for clearance and after passing the supplied items from the line committee board, the PCS issues the supplied items to various units accordingly as per the allotment order of PHQ Kohima.

The office of PCS comprises of 8 (eight) section/branches which are purely assigned by OC PCS, Chumukedima. It has 1 (one) NGO as In-Charge under each section/branches except in the Medicine Section/Branch which functions under a ministerial staff as In-Charge. The Nagaland Police AR-Shop is directly under the supervision of PHQ, Kohima. It is under the command of one ABI (Armourer-in-Chief) at Police Central AR-Shop, Chumukedima.
The Police wireless wing is headed by a DIG under the nomenclature Nagaland Police Telecommunication Organization. He is assisted by one S.P. and other level officers at the Headquarters and other officers and ranks are posted all over the state, both in districts and battalions catering to communication requirements of the department.

- Guidance:procuring tickets and matters relating various permits, exchange of foreign currency… protection them from touts and black marketers. Mental support/counseling to the victims (if any).
